The Royal Nautical Club of Arrecife hosts the Canary Association of Nautical Clubs Regatta

The event took place over the weekend in the bay of Arrecife with the participation of 24 sailors

The Arrecife bay hosted the Canary Association of Nautical Clubs Regatta last weekend, organized on this occasion by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife and which took place in the international optimist class. The event was attended by 24 sailors from the different nautical clubs of the archipelago, and the good weather conditions allowed for the celebration of five races throughout Friday and Saturday. The sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife occupied the top three positions on the podium in the male under-11 category.

The Canary Association of Nautical Clubs Regatta got underway on Friday. The wind blew from the north-northwest direction and with an intensity of 10 to 12 knots, which allowed for the celebration of two races. The next day, the wind was from the northeast, with an intensity that grew from 10 to 16 knots, and with the dispute of three new races.

Teresa Pavillart (Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria) and Pablo Rizo (Real Club Náutico de Arrecife) were the winners of the under-11 category. The female podium was completed with the second place of Paula Hinken (CM Radazul) and the third position of Olivia Bazán (CM Radazul). And in the male category, Pablo Curbelo and Hugo Díaz were second and third, respectively, both sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.

In the under-13 category, Carmen Bravo de Laguna (Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria) and Jacobo de Olano (Real Club Náutico de Tenerife) were the winners. Catalina López (Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria) occupied the second position and Paola Pérez (Real Club Náutico de Tenerife) was the third classified. Leandro de la Hoz (Real Club Náutico de Arrecife) was the second classified and the third place on the podium corresponded to Víctor Acosta (Real Club Náutico de Tenerife).

The Canary Association of Nautical Clubs Regatta concluded on Saturday afternoon with the trophy presentation, an event that took place in the César Manrique hall and was attended by the president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, accompanied by several members of his Board of Directors. An event in which the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife was awarded as the overall winner of the competition and the flags of the Canary Association of Nautical Clubs were presented to the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, Real Club Náutico de Tenerife, and the Club Marítimo Radazul.
