The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife becomes the epicenter of sports during the month of August, with the celebration of up to five major events; a triathlon, a swimming race, and three international regattas. On August 17, the XXXI RCNA Triathlon - City of Arrecife will be held, one of the longest-running triathlon events in the Canary Islands, which will feature the participation of the best triathletes in the archipelago and renowned national and international athletes who train in Lanzarote during the summer season.

The presentation ceremony took place on Monday morning in the César Manrique Hall of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and was attended by the president of the club, Julio Romero. He was accompanied by the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, the Councilor for Tourism and Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Eli Merino, and the representative of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation (FECANTRI), Israel Caraballo.

Julio Romero explained the problems that the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife has had in organizing this edition, explaining that it will be able to take place thanks to "an agreement with FECANTRI, which will be responsible for the development and registration of the event, and the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife will be responsible for the logistics." An agreement that will allow the celebration of the longest-running event on the calendar on August 17.

Juan Monzón considered that "it is a commitment for the Cabildo de Lanzarote to be collaborating in the development of this triathlon" and recalled that "Lanzarote is currently the cradle of triathlon in the Canary Islands and in Spain." Therefore, he commented that "we will continue to support this sporting activity."

Eli Merino explained that "the Tourism and Sports areas of the Arrecife City Council have proposed for this 2025 that Arrecife be the capital of sports and outdoor events," and therefore, "we have to support all the sporting and tourist events that take place in our city." The Councilor for Tourism and Sports thanked "the important support of FECANTRI for the development of this edition."

Israel Caraballo, representing the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation, commented that "we have committed to this triathlon so that this event is not lost," and recalled that it "is one of the most important events at a regional, national, and international level." In addition, he announced that work has been done to ensure that the event on August 17 causes minimal inconvenience to the residents of Arrecife with the closure of streets.

The XXXI RCNA Ciudad de Arrecife Triathlon is part of the official calendar of the 2025 Triathlon Series. In the Sprint mode, it will count towards the general circuit, and in the Supersprint, it will be valid for the Canary Islands Talents Series, as well as for the Canary Islands Championships in the Children, Cadet, and Youth categories. With a few days left before the closing of registrations, 181 places out of the 250 available have already been filled.

The president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, took advantage of the event to recall the busy schedule of sports and cultural activities that the club has during this month of August. Among the events to be held, the XXX San Ginés Swimming Crossing, which takes place on August 23, the LXXV San Ginés International Regatta, which has its departure from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this Friday, the XIV César Manrique RCNA - Calero Marinas Trophy, and the IX Arrecife - Agadir International Regatta stand out.
