The first night race in the tourist area of the municipality of Tías, Puerto del Carmen Music Night Run, has 570 registered, professional and amateur athletes of different levels who will run tomorrow along Avenida de las Playas from Plaza de las Naciones, in Plaza de Los Pocillos, to the Matagorda area before the airport and back.
The atmosphere of the sporting event will be enlivened from 6:45 p.m. in Plaza de las Naciones with Fernando Petit's zumba, whose dances will continue until minutes before the lighting of the route, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The different distances of the race will be 7 kilometers, 4 kilometers and 1.6 kilometers with fast and low difficulty routes.
The performance of the Báilame School, starting at 8:25 p.m., will give way to the three modalities of the race, which will have half an hour difference in each start. The event will feature speaker Ale Ossorio and the awards ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. During the afternoon and evening, DJs Jefecito and Ángel Pérez will perform, as well as the Swing del Norte trio with verbena music.
During the public presentation of the event, the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilor for Beaches, Christopher Notario, stated that the objective of the City Council is to "promote this area of our tourist town, giving value to its surroundings, beaches, shops, hotel and accommodation establishments."
The council invites the citizens of Lanzarote to participate in this sporting event and in the celebration included in the program.
