The brothers Alberto and Miguel Ángel Morales have made a splash at the Championnat de France de Waszp, held for the first time in the Mediterranean, in the picturesque stretch of water of La Grande-Motte. Despite a canceled day, the sailing conditions were ideal, attracting sailors from various backgrounds such as Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, United Kingdom, Denmark, Italy and France.
The journey of the Morales brothers began with a marathon journey from Lanzarote by boat to Lake Di Garda. This effort was rewarded with outstanding performances in the competition. Alberto Morales remained in the top of the standings throughout the event, achieving a second and two third places as best results. Although the fight for the title was complicated, Alberto won the bronze medal with a total of 28 points, finishing third overall.
For his part, Miguel Ángel Morales also stood out, obtaining bronze in the Sub21 category. With an eighth place overall and 55 points, his best results were a fifth and a sixth place. The participation of 42 competitors in the event underlines the high level of the Morales brothers in the class.
After the conclusion of the championship, Alberto and Miguel Ángel headed to Barcelona to continue their training. Their next destination is Sandefjord, Norway, where they will participate in the Waszp World Championship, traveling by road from the city of Barcelona. The Championnat de France de Waszp has not only been a success for the Morales brothers, but also a testament to the growing interest and competitiveness in this young and international sailing class.
