The Lanzarotean Hecher Sosa, known sportingly as El Guanche Warrior, has achieved victory in his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the largest mixed martial arts company in the world, after defeating the Brazilian Luan Larceda.
In the fight, which could be followed from 10:00 p.m. this Saturday, Sosa fought in the bantamweight category with the Brazilian in the preliminary card fights, with four other fights.
Despite the fact that the first round was taken by the Brazilian fighter, the Lanzarote native managed to recover quickly and claim victory. With this triumph, Hecher Sosa starts on very good footing in the UFC, auguring him a great future at a global level.
According to Lanzarote Deportiva, Saturday's fight also had "an unexpected component in its preparation", since Lacerda was actually scheduled to face Japanese Rinya Nakamura, but after the Japanese fighter's withdrawal, the confrontation gave the opportunity to the Lanzarote native. Despite having had to prepare for the fight hastily, Hecher arrived with confidence and the intention of seeking a victory by KO.
Hecher Sosa accumulates fourteen victories and one defeat, as well as a streak of eleven consecutive wins. Meanwhile, Lacerda has more experience within the organization, with three fights disputed in the UFC.
