The sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Miguel Ángel Morales Hernández and Alejandro Martín Corujo, were proclaimed this Monday as European champions of the 420 Men's class in sailing, after previously achieving the runner-up position in the world championship, the Spanish championship, and third place in the Spanish Cup.
New success for Lanzarote sailing at the European level, which also expands the track record of the Morales Hernández brothers (Alberto and Miguel Ángel) and Alejandro Martín. Last Sunday, they finished the day as leaders of the men's classification, a position they accessed last Saturday, maintaining it today due to the suspension of the regattas due to the absence of wind.
Gabriela Cañibano and Ariane Muñoz, in the women's U17 category, finished 13th in their first event with an international competition. Thus confirming the good work of the two RCNA crews, who will now face the World Championship together with other fleet colleagues, which will be held in Alicante from July 24 to 29.
In the 'Women's Open' category, the Greek winners were: Jakovina Kerkezou and Danae Giannouli. In the U17, the Greeks also won: Georgios Michalopoulos in the men's category, Danae Aggelopoulou and Georgia Faviou.
