Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen fell defeated this Saturday at the Municipal de Tías during the visit of Vino Doña Berenguela Bm. Bolaños (23-29) in a match postponed due to Storm Emilia in December 2025 corresponding to the tenth round of the Women's Gold Division of Honor.

The tiñoseras thus continue inhabiting the thirteenth position of the classification table with nine points, two from Mislata, three from Zaragoza and four from Lleida. For its part, Bolaños remains in fifth position with twenty-six points.

The aurinegras did not have a bad first half. In fact, they started better than the visitors, although doubts predominated in the first minutes on both sides of the tiense court. The initial tie was not broken until a goal from Lucía's corner. Bolaños could not find the way in attack and Puerto took advantage of the situation and with three zero on the scoreboard provoked Bolaños' first timeout (min. 4:20).

The ones from Ciudad Real debuted with a penalty after the break with a Nadege Moronfolu who, finally, would have quite an impact on the match, forceful in defense and active in attack.  They gave way to a phase of goal exchange with some prominence for Cristina Mazaira (6-3, min. 10).

Something clicked at that instant. Bolaños was pressing the accelerator in defense and Puerto was greatly struggling, but a red card to Odalys Escalona after a tough action sips Brenda Torres gave some oxygen to the locals (6-5, min. 16.17). But the visitors continued with their own until tying the match, thus reaching Casanova's timeout with just over five minutes to play. A goal by Carolina Charlo, a former tiñosera, put Bolaños ahead for the first time, but Puerto managed to reach halftime with a twelve-all tie.

In the resumption, the seams were seen on the locals. The Tiñoseras were collapsing. Bolaños was gripping Puerto in defense and soon acquired a significant advantage (14-19, min. 8:14).

As the minutes passed, Puerto was bleeding out despite Made Cortez spreading her wings in goal, as the yellow-black attack was not accompanying. An oasis in the middle of the desert were two consecutive goals by Lucía Betancort, but Bolaños had smelled blood and continued with her own (18-23, min.18).

However much Puerto tried to row, the match had broken irremediably after halftime. Casanova tried it with a new timeout (20-26, min. 24:15). The tiñoseras scored two consecutive goals after the break, but Moronfolu took over from Carolina Charlo and went back to her old ways frustrating any local attempt. There was no time for much more.

Moronfolu herself in Bolaños and Mónica Cabrera in the black and yellows became the top scorers of the match with seven goals each.

For the Tiñosero coach, Jesús Casanova, who could not count on the signings of Masseu and Palumbo as it was a postponed match, it has been “a match with two very different halves. In the first half we started strong, as we have been doing lately, with a good defense. Quick counter-attacks and well, in attack we were not so fluid, but well, also scoring goals in that area. But already in the last five minutes of the first half, our strength began to falter a little. And the second half, well, there was little we could do. Two elements of the squad were quite depleted and we had almost no rotations. The rotations I had were the youth girls who, whether we like it or not, are not yet prepared for this type of match and hence the difference that there was at the end. I think the last five minutes were unnecessary because we were no longer in the match. But, on the other hand, satisfied because the first 20 or 25 minutes I think we stood up with the team as we had it and showed that we can still beat anyone in whatever situations”, concluded the Puerto del Carmen coach.

The Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen will return to competition next Saturday, March 14, at 18:00 hours, at the Municipal de Tías, in a vital match of the twentieth round with a rival from the lower part of the table, the Lleida Handbol Club, a team that comes from winning at home against Carballal (30-25) and occupies the tenth place with thirteen points, four points behind the tiñoseras.
