The Junior team of Costa Teguise (CB La Villa) achieved this Monday a spectacular victory in the IES Costa Teguise Pavilion against Canterbury School (86-82), in a match
corresponding to the play-in or previous crossover of the Canary Islands Junior Basketball Championship.
After this victory, the Teguise team obtains a historic pass to the quarterfinals, being the first "conejero" team to achieve it with the new format established by the Canarian Basketball Federation for the definitive playoffs, a system that, furthermore, already guarantees them, at a minimum, a more than meritorious sixth autonomous place.
The Insular Pavilion La Vega De San José of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be the setting, next Friday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m., for the decisive quarter-final clash against CajaSiete Santa Cruz, a match in which the Teguise bear cubs will seek the feat to plant themselves in the semifinals of the Canary Islands Junior Basketball Championship.
In the victory against Canterbury School, two men stood out offensively, Enrique Pérez with thirty points and seven rebounds, top scorer of the game and thirty-two in
valuation, well supported by Aivaras Buzas' double-double with twenty-five points and seventeen rebounds, finishing with forty-six in valuation. For the Gran Canaria team, Cheick Amadi Traoré was their top scorer with twenty points.
