The athletes from Lanzarote enjoyed their most special night at the awards ceremony corresponding to the Lanzarote Island Automobile Championship. The vast majority of the winners, as well as their closest people, attended the event held on the Islote de Fermina. Everyone had their moment in a gala characterized by fluidity, one of the hallmarks of the new Board of Directors of the FALP.
In addition to the support shown by the group of athletes, there was a notable presence of political leaders, a representation headed by Juan F. Monzón, Minister of Sports of the Island Council of Lanzarote. Regarding the presentation of the ceremony, it was given by Teodoro Vega, a communicator with a long history in the motor information sector.
One of the highlighted interventions was that of Luis Moya. The two-time world rally champion co-driver is present in Lanzarote to teach a course organized by Manuel Guillén and Foto Sport Canarias. The Galician, who loves the Islands, highlighted the quality of the competitions held in the Archipelago, with special mention to the Canary Islands Rally, a world event that, in his own words, he will try to attend in April.
At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, the winners and their companions were able to enjoy a toast on the same Islote de Fermina. They also had time to take photos with their awards and immortalize that special moment that definitively closes the season in Lanzarote. On this Saturday, the focus will shift to the #AcercandolaFALP event in Arrecife.
"We held the earliest awards ceremony of the Lanzarote Island Automobile Championship in our commitment to do things when they are due," said Dani Ponce, president of the governing body of motorsport in the eastern province. "One of the initiatives that the FALP will undertake, also on this island, is to promote an island championship on land that recognizes the tremendous effort and success of the athletes from Lanzarote," he added.
"Lanzarote is also in luck because it is the island where the 2025 season will open throughout the Archipelago, with the 18th RallySprint La Candelaria being the earliest competition of the year in the Canary Islands," said the leader from Gran Canaria. "No one can deny how competitive the athletes from Lanzarote always are in all motorsport disciplines. They are a source of pride for this federation," he concluded.
