The Karate Club of Arrecife attended with four competitors to the regional championship of the Canary Islands Karate Federation, corresponding to the categories Benjamin, Alevín, Infantil and Juvenile, held this past Sunday, March 16, in El Sauzal (Tenerife), climbing to the podium all four, in their respective categories. Undoubtedly a performance that shows the great level of the karatekas of the karate club of Arrecife.
Marius Sasu Bodarnea was proclaimed Champion of the Canary Islands in the Kumite Juvenile Male -60 + 60 kg category, winning all his fights against competitors from Gran Canaria and Tenerife, and obtaining the gold medal.
Gael Suárez González, in the Kumite Alevín Male -28 -34 kg category, climbed to the second step of the podium to get the silver, obtaining the runner-up of the Canary Islands.
Caleb Padrón Alonso and Mohamed Kouhamy obtained bronze medals in Kumite Juvenile Male -42 kg and Kumite Infantil Masulino – 45 kg, respectively.
The competitors were accompanied by the Club's technician, Nicolás Lasso, who acted as Coach, as well as by Amelie Skiba, who on this occasion performed assistant duties.
