Costa Teguise Judo Club finishes fifth in the National First Division

The Costa Teguise Judo Club has made history again. This Saturday he played in Villaviciosa de Odón, Madrid, the last day of the National Club League with a final result that was more than honorable.

The team of judokas led by Alejandro Ramírez finally took fifth place in the Men's First Division League, the best historical classification achieved so far by a Canary Islands club.

On the last day, the Lanzarote team drew with the Asociación Judo Móstoles, beat J.C. Getafe and C.D.E. Judo Fontenebro, losing only to C.D. Ronin.

The Costa Teguise Judo Club is just short of the podium places, in fifth position, with eleven points. Only behind J.C. Stabia, with twelve points, J.C. Sotillo and Girona Judo, both with thirteen, and the first classified, the Valencia Judo Club, unbeatable with nineteen points.

Alejandro Ramírez, at the head of the team in Madrid, wanted to thank his judokas for their dedication, "representing Lanzarote and the Canary Islands with pride and maximum dedication: Xerach, Diego Fernández, Alberto Gaitero, Jorge Cano, Álvaro Cano, Alejandro Medina, Alexis Rosa, Daniel Merino, Axel Zambrano and Julián Lozano. They have all given everything, I am proud of this club, of those who have sweated for our name in Madrid but, mainly, for all those who step on the club's tatami day after day to improve as people and as athletes. We have made history again for Canarian judo, finishing fifth nationally. I don't even want to think about what Lanzarote judo could achieve with the help of institutions and the unconditional support of the Canarian federation, but it is time to stay with the positive, we have played a more than honorable role representing Costa Teguise and Lanzarote at a national level. Now it's time to continue growing as a club," concluded the technical director of the Lanzarote club.
