BALONMANO. SAN JOSÉ OBRERO GRANOLLERS (5)

The CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife fell defeated against KH7 Balonmano Granollers in the “Star Match” of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, and which was offered this Sunday live by Teledeporte's cameras. A match that was a wanting and not being able to by the San José Obrero women's team, although it never gave up to put the Catalans in trouble, and ended up falling defeated by a tight 24 to 25.

The match did not have a good start for CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, the locals showing themselves very rushed in attack and KH7 Balonmano Granollers being very effective, putting the score at 1 to 6 on the scoreboard in the first six minutes of play, Carlos Britos having to request a timeout to get his team into the match.

The time on the bench served for CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife to reactivate. The goals by Rocío Squizziato, Mornesa Tenda and Celia López, served to achieve a 3-0 partial, and it was now Robert Cuesta who requested the timeout before reaching the halfway point of the first half (4-6).

CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife managed to get one goal down, after Thais Fermo scored a seven-meter throw, but goalkeeper Marta Mera with her interventions prevented the comeback of the locals. With the score of 10 to 12, the end of the first 30 minutes was reached, leaving the clash open for the second half.

Just as happened in the first half, the second period did not start well at all for the interests of CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife. KH7 Balonmano Granollers managed to have a seven-goal lead in the first moments of the second half (11-18). A second half in which the Lanzarote team got closer at times and moved away at others. Goalkeeper Ana Martín with her good saves kept her team alive.

With three minutes remaining until the end of the match, two goals by Alba Tort put CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife two goals down (22-24). Cristina Palomino from the pivot scored to give her team peace of mind in the final moments, and the locals could only make up the final result to place themselves one goal down.
