The CD Pingüino team manages to touch success in the Spanish Artistic Swimming Championship

The children's and juvenile team, made up of 21 swimmers, managed to qualify in sixth and eleventh position, respectively.

The facilities of the Sabadell Swimming Club hosted this weekend the Spanish Championship of First Division Alevín and Infantil of Artistic Swimming, a competition in which the CD Pingüinos de Arrecife of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife was present with the participation of 21 members. A weekend in which the Spanish runner-up won by Miguel Martínez in the men's classification, and the sixth and eleventh position achieved by the children's and juvenile team, respectively, stood out.

The CD Pingüinos de Arrecife moved last Thursday to Sabadell to participate in a new edition of the Spanish Championship of First Division Alevín and Infantil of Artistic Swimming. The juvenile team was composed of 11 swimmers with their coach Sara Gijón, and the children's team had 10 swimmers with their coach Beatriz Gavira. They participated in the individual figures, the combo routines, team, mixed duo and classified the two female duos.

The competition began with the individual figures of the children's category with the presence of 208 swimmers, and in which Miguel Martínez was proclaimed Spanish runner-up in the men's classification. And in the juvenile category participated 203 swimmers, where the fifth place of his year of Avril Bethencourt stood out.

The members of the CD Pingüinos de Arrecife achieved great results in the duets modality of the national competition. Miguel Martínez and Vega Martínez qualified in the fourth position in the mixed duets of the children's category. For their part, Eduardo Curbelo and Adriana Cabrera qualified in the sixth position, and Lucio Bethencourt and Noa Marrero, with Lucía Barreiro as reserve, qualified in the twelfth place.

On Saturday and Sunday the competitions of the female duets, cambos and teams were held, highlighting the twelfth place of the teams of the CD Pingüinos de Arrecife in both categories. These results allowed the Lanzarote club to obtain the sixth position in the children's classification by clubs of a total of 20 participants, and the eleventh place of 21 clubs in the juvenile category.

"There have been months of hard work and training for the CD Pingüinos de Arrecife, in a season that has once again been marked by the good results obtained in each of the regional and national competitions in which they have participated," explain from the organization.
