From July 10, registration is open for the new edition of the Arrecife City Triathlon, within the program of sporting events supported by the Arrecife City Council in the calendar of events for its patron saint festivities in honor of San Ginés. The XXXI edition of the Arrecife City Triathlon will be held in the capital of Lanzarote on August 17, under the direct organization of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation and the Arrecife City Council, through Deportes Arrecife.

The Councilor for Sports of Arrecife, and also head of the Department of Tourism and Commerce, Eli Merino, has highlighted that this new edition has been planned for a long time in the calendar of major sporting events promoted, promoted or supported by the Arrecife City Council.
The XXXI edition of the Arrecife City Sprint Triathlon, one of the great events of the sports program for the San Ginés Festivities, is among the oldest sporting events in Arrecife and Lanzarote, and which continues in the federative calendar thanks to the important financial support of the Arrecife City Council, which continues to support sports, federations and clubs, and athletes.
The XXXI edition of the Arrecife City Sprint Triathlon, in its 2025 edition, has the financial support of the Arrecife City Council, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands, public institutions that have once again signed, as in previous editions, their institutional commitment to the celebration of this event, which will be organized directly and professionally by the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation, with the direct and very special support of the Municipal Government of Arrecife led by Mayor Yonathan de León.
From Deportes Arrecife it is regretted that in these days a "false news" is circulating in networks about the suspension of this triathlon, "a totally false news and also disseminated by some media without being previously contrasted with the Municipal Sports Area", according to a statement, being a test with the name of Arrecife, and having been linked to the celebration of the San Ginés festivities for more than three decades.
