Raquel Arostegui and Saúl Escarabajal, winners of the RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife

The sporting event brought together a total of 221 participants in the capital of Lanzarote, distributed in the different modalities: Sprint (142 registered), Supersprint (53), Minors (20) and Teams (6)

Arrecife hosted last Sunday the XXXI RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife, one of the oldest triathlon events held in the Canary Islands, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, with the collaboration of the Canarian Triathlon Federation (FECANTRI), the Arrecife City Council and the Cabildo de Lanzarote. Raquel Arostegui and Saúl Escarabajal, were crowned as absolute winners of the Sprint modality.

The XXXI RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife brought together in the capital of Lanzarote a total of 221 participants, distributed in the different modalities; Sprint (142 registered), Supersprint (53), Minors (20) and Teams (6). There was a great sporting atmosphere around El Reducto beach, where the swimming segment took place and the finish line was located.

The Sprint modality, scoring for the Canary Islands Triathlon Series 2025, had a course of 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running. The men's category was marked by equality until the final meters, with Saúl Escarabajal (Club de Triatlón Diablillos de Rivas) prevailing in the final sprint by just five hundredths over Gorka Rodríguez (Deporama Triatlón Soriano). The podium was completed with the third position of Kirian Montesdeoca (Trican).

In the women's category, the victory in the RCNA Triathlon - City of Arrecife went to Raquel Arostegui (Club Natación Reales). The second position in the general classification was achieved by Mia Leadbeater (Chamo Díaz) and the third place on the podium was for Lucía Pérez (Club Natación Las Palmas).

In the Supersprint modality, the victory in the men's category was for Joel Izán Concepción (Chamo Díaz), followed by his teammate Diego Delgado (Chamo Díaz) and Aitor Rodríguez (Club Natación Reales). The triumph in the women's category was for Aoibheann Ryan (Chamo Díaz), completing the podium Nora Morales (Chamo Díaz) and Mabel Hernández (Club Natación Reales), second and third classified, respectively.

"Los Rezagados" took the victory in the Supersprint Teams modality, ahead of "Tenerife Reactivite" and "Xportxperience". The morning concluded with the celebration of the children's tests in aquathlon format, with the youngest participants of the event also taking part.

The XXXI RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife closed with the awards ceremony, an event that was attended by the president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero. He was accompanied by the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, the councilor for Sports and Tourism of Arrecife, Eli Merino, the councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón, and the president of the Canarian Triathlon Federation, Adrián Ornia.

With a total of 31 editions, the RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife is consolidated as a benchmark in Canarian sport, combining sporting spectacle and popular participation. The organization highlights the effort of the volunteers, security forces and sponsors who made a safe and successful event possible.
