Outstanding participation of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife in the Canary Olympic Week

The Lanzarote sailors occupied the top spots on the podium in the ILCA 4 and Snipe classes

The XXVII Canary Olympic Sailing Week 2025 concluded its first weekend of competition in the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with broad participation from sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. Once again, the Lanzarote representation held their own, occupying the top positions in the standings in the ILCA 4 and Snipe classes.

In the first competitive weekend of the Canary Sailing Olympic Week, the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife had representation in the ILCA 4, Snipe, and 420 classes. The first two days were marked by light winds, which led to the suspension of some of the scheduled races, and the wind made its presence felt on Sunday morning.

In the Snipe class, Miguel Ángel Lasso and Marcos Peraza took the victory in the XXVII Canary Olympic Sailing Week, adding two partial wins in the five races held. Rafael Lasso and Alonso Pérez also took to the podium, finishing the competition in a more than meritorious third position.

Miguel Ángel Guerra and Luis Miguel Hernández qualified in fifth place overall, and Leonardo “Nete” Armas and Marina Armas took seventh position. A Snipe class that also included the participation of Alfredo Morales and Aida Morales, Pedro Ferrer and Yaimur Hernández, and Matías Garcías and Álvaro BernalIn the ILCA 4 class, sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife achieved several podiums in the Canary Islands Olympic Sailing Week. **Guillermo Bravo de Laguna was the second-placed finisher** overall and **Unai de Ugarte was third**. Furthermore, Unai de Ugarte took victory in the U16 category and his teammate Mateo Roa placed third in the same category. **Pablo Eusebio and Hugo Olivero** also participated in the ILCA 4 class

The participation of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife in the XXVII Olympic Week was completed in the 420 class, with the presence of two young teams. Pablo Medina – Jorge Betancort and Coromoto Rodríguez – Anais Mestres, sailed during the weekend in the bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, gaining great experience for future events.
