The city of Arrecife hosts a new edition of the Lanzarote Summer Challenge, the most important international CrossFit tournament held in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. This year, it comes to the island from July 12th to 13th with the highest level of sportsmanship in its history.
A total of 224 competitors from Germany, England, France, Italy, Portugal, and a large part of Spain will demonstrate their strength, balance, skill, and speed in the tests that will take place in three luxurious settings: El Reducto beach, El Islote de la Fermina, and Marina Lanzarote Puerto Deportivo. These three spectacular locations make this competition a unique event, allowing for the combination of the most demanding exercises on sand, mat, and water.
The athletes will compete in seven different categories, all composed of same-sex pairs with a total of 16 pairs per category: Male and Female Scale, Male and Female Intermediate, Male and Female RX, and Male and Female Master. As a novelty, this year the organization has four WILD CARDS, 2 for the Male RX category and another two for the Female, invitations for the best athletes in our country with the aim of further raising the level of the event, a plus of quality and spectacle ensuring the presence of the best athletes in this modality.
Precisely the high level of the competitors is the biggest attraction of this edition of the Lanzarote Summer Challenge. Athletes such as Fabián Beneito, one of the most international Spanish athletes and the one who has won the Open Games in Spain the most times, Silvia García, present in the CrossFit semifinals for the last three years, and Margaut Masset, a prominent French athlete and semifinalist of the CrossFit Games in Europe, will compete in the different tests.
Bryan Hernández from Lanzarote, another of the great international athletes from our country, and Alex de La Guardia from Gran Canaria, champion of the last edition of the Lanzarote Summer Challenge, will also delight the attendees with their strength and abilities. The best of nearly 1,000 applicants from all over Europe after passing the tough qualifying tests proposed by the organization. The emotion and spectacle of the best European CrossFit live with the best representation of athletes that this event has ever had are guaranteed.
