El Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife added a very meritorious victory on Saturday afternoon on the court of Disiclín Balonmano Lalín, which allows them to maintain a three-point lead in second place in the standings. The players led by Alfredo Rodríguez had to put on their work clothes throughout the match to overcome a rival that did not make it easy at all. Only in the final minutes did San José Obrero tip the scales in their favor.

The Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife did not take long to take the reins of the match, and the goals from Abián Martín from the pivot and Ángel Iglesias from the wing, put the score at 1-2. In the first few minutes of the first half, the Lanzarote team even had a maximum lead of three goals, after two goals from Ángel Iglesias (2-5).

In the middle of the first half, Disiclin Balonmano Lalín not only equalized the score, but even went two goals up with goals from Ramón Gil and Adrián Loson (8-6). Alfredo Rodríguez moved the bench, freshness that allowed them to regain control of the match, in a first half that ended with a goal from Adrián Juárez on the buzzer, making it 13 to 14 at halftime.

The exchange of blows was common in the first minutes of the second half, with Balonmano Lalín proposing a fast game to force a quick defensive retreat from the visitors. With eight minutes left before halftime, Alfredo Rodríguez called a timeout upon seeing how the locals had established the tie, and after instructions from the bench, Joel Armas and Javi Aragón scored (26-28).

Disiclín Balonmano Lalín never gave up, establishing the tie with a goal from Martín Loson from the left wing (30-30), with just over two minutes left. A powerful shot from Óscar Silva, a steal by Joel Armas culminating a quick counter-attack, gave Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife some breathing room. Mauro Jaureguiberry sealed the win when the opponent was pressing all over the court.
