Meet who the awardees of the VIII Sports Gala are

The event will be held on March 9th at Jameos del Agua.

The Cabildo de Lanzarote Sports Department is already preparing the VIII Sports Gala, which will be held at Jameos del Agua on March 9th in the Jameos del Agua Auditorium.

The councilor of the area, Juan Monzón, asserted that this event "is one of the most anticipated by clubs and athletes on the island". "On this day, we highlight the work done by athletes and clubs throughout the year, thus congratulating the effort made at the insular, regional, national, and even international level," Monzón pointed out. 

The gala jury has collected the proposals made by the citizens and has determined the nominees in the different categories. In the individual male category, the aspirants are Dylan Donegan Dos Santos (Surf), Miguel Ángel Martín Duque (Handball) and Hecher Sosa De Rada (MMA). In the female category, the nominees are Ariadne Giménez (Sea Kayak), Sol Borelli Luzarreta (Surf) and Abbie Nicole Burns (Skate).

In the collective modalities, the jury has selected as male nominees La Graciosa Fútbol Sala, for their promotion to the División de Honor Juvenil; the pair formed by Leonardo Armas and Miguel Bethencourt (Vela-Snipe) and the team of Alberto Morales, Miguel Morales and Gabriel Gallego (Vela-Match Race). In the female section, the nominations fall to Club Balonmano Zonzamas, Club Deportivo Isla de Lanzarote and Club Balonmano San José.


 

Awarded with special distinction

The gala will also pay tribute to figures and entities that are benchmarks of values and trajectory. Kenneth Gasque will receive the Sports Legend award, while Salvador Hernández Villalba will be recognized for his Human Values. The award for Youth Development Work will go to Club Deportivo El Aljibe and the one for Indigenous Sports to Club de Lucha Unión Sur Yaiza "Joaquín Rodríguez".

Likewise, Rayco Cancio Lasso (Research), Hang On Climbing Lanzarote (Sports Promotion) and Haría Titán will be awarded as Best Sporting Event. The night will be completed with an emotional Special Mention for Alejandro Manuel Rodríguez Caraballo "Guayo".
