Manuel Lezcano from Lanzarote was proclaimed the winner of the eleventh edition of the La Vaca Gigante competition. A total of 24 local and international surfers participated this Monday against wind and tide to reach the first place in Las Canteras de Cueto, in Santander.

More than 12,000 people were able to enjoy this unique spectacle in the world. This edition had the peculiarity that it would have multiple winners although only one of the planned finals could be held due to bad weather, the Spanish Big Wave Championship. The international final and that of La Vaca Gigante itself could not be carried out.

Due to the fact that the final of the event itself, as well as the international final, could not be held, the organization committee decided to declare the six finalists as winners and divide the prize among them.

Among the finalists who should have advanced to the final of La Vaca Gigante are Manuel Lezcano, Xabi López, Eneko Merino, Joan Mercadal, Indar Unanue and Nico García. As for the international final, the finalists are Nazan Buanic, Pierre Rollet, Kyllian Gerin, Joaquín del Castillo, Ricardo Cruzado and Pete Luigi.
