Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género achieved a meritorious away victory against CB Andratx by 75 to 87, in a match that once again demonstrated the resilience of the team led by Jesús García. The result is even more valuable considering the complications suffered throughout the week, which affected both the preparation for the match and those that arose during the red-and-black team's journey itself.
In the days leading up to the match, several players were dealing with physical discomfort that limited training sessions. Added to this was the absence of Iranzu Drake, who could not travel due to work commitments. To worsen the situation, the flight that was supposed to take the team to Barcelona, an intermediate point before reaching Palma de Mallorca, suffered a delay that caused them to miss their connection and the team arrived in Palma de Mallorca just half an hour before the match began.
However, the competitive spirit of Magec Tías Lanzarote once again made itself present. Such was the group's commitment that Nereida Bermúdez, assistant coach to Jesús García, had to put on a jersey and play some minutes, sharing the court with two of the most veteran players in the club in Liga Femenina 2: Yaiza García and Carolina Mateo, the three of them with eight seasons defending the colors of the Lanzarote team in Liga Femenina 2From the start, the Tías players showed an exemplary attitude, approaching the match with seriousness and concentration. The first quarter was even, with the team trying to adapt to the rhythm of the game after the long journey. As the minutes went by, defensive solidity and offensive effectiveness allowed the red-and-black team to reach halftime with a five-point lead.In the second half, Magec Tías Lanzarote maintained their intensity and increased their offensive directness. Following the tactical plan established by their coach, the Lanzaroteñas managed to widen the gap and control the score with authority until the end, closing the match with a comfortable twelve-point lead (75-87).At the end of the match, coach Jesús García expressed his satisfaction with the group's performance: "I am very happy and proud of the girls' good work and their willingness to win the match despite all the problems we have encountered throughout the week. Now it's time to work to keep adding and improving."
With this victory, their third of the season, Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género moves up to eighth position in the Liga Femenina 2 standings, consolidating their progress in the championship. The Lanzaroteñas' next commitment will be at home, where they will host Hierros Díaz Extremadura Miralvalle, a match that has already become a classic in the category. The game will be played on Saturday, November 15th at 7:00 PM in the Pabellón Municipal de Tías
CD Magec Tías wishes to thank CB Andratx for the treatment received and their understanding regarding the situation experienced during the team's trip. Furthermore, the rojinegra family wishes a speedy recovery to the coach of the Mallorcan team, who suffered a traffic accident on his way to the game.
