The red-and-blacks fall by 73 to 63 against Cesur Distrito Olímpico

PREVIA. DISTRITO OLIMPICO MAGEC TÍAS (1)g

The Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence once again stayed at the doors of a positive result in their visit to Cesur Distrito Olímpico, in a very competitive and high-intensity match played in Madrid's Golden Triangle Pavilion. The Lanzarote women offered phases of good play and managed to stay in the fight for much of the clash, but the final push from the Madrid team ended up tipping the balance in favor of the locals, who took the victory by 73 to 63.

The game started with great intensity and an initial lead on the scoreboard by the Madrid team. However, Magec Tías Lanzarote always remained attentive,
trying to find the right moment to take the lead. The island defense proved solid from the first minutes, managing to stop several attacks from Cesur Distrito Olímpico. The main handicap was in the defensive rebound, but once that aspect was corrected, the red-and-blacks managed to get ahead on the scoreboard. The first quarter ended with a slight visitor advantage (23-25), reflecting the equality experienced on the court.

The second period maintained a very similar dynamic. The fight under the Lanzarotean hoop continued to be intense, with both teams fighting for every possession. Magec Tías Lanzarote showed greater accuracy in exterior and interior shooting, which allowed the players led by Jesús García to slightly extend the lead to four points (27-31).

Nevertheless, Cesur Distrito Olímpico reacted quickly, scoring a 6-0 run that allowed them to regain control of the match. Although the islanders managed to tie in the last moments of the quarter, a new positive streak from the Madrid team left the score at 38-33 at halftime.

After the resumption, the home team increased the offensive pace. Even so, the defense of Magec Tías Lanzarote forced the Madrid players to exhaust many of their possessions. With the
passing of the minutes, the difference began to grow, which led coach Jesús García to request a timeout when the scoreboard showed 47-36 and there were just over
five minutes remaining to end the third quarter.

The break proved revitalizing for the Lanzarote team. Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence recovered sensations and began to progressively reduce a disadvantage that reached 14 points. With just over two minutes remaining in the third period, the scoreboard adjusted to 50-46, forcing the Cesur Distrito Olímpico coach to stop the game. Finally, the third quarter concluded with a 53-48, leaving everything open for the last ten minutes.

The decisive quarter began with an exchange of baskets and initially maintaining the five-point difference favorable to the local team. However, with the passing of the
minutes, Cesur Distrito Olímpico managed to widen the lead again. A three-pointer by the Madrid team with 5:45 left in the game put the score at 62-53, which led
the island coach again to call a timeout in search of reorganizing the game and activating the comeback.

The reaction was not long in coming. Magec Tías Lanzarote registered a 0-8 run that reduced the difference to just one point when three minutes remained for the end of the match. However, the accumulated effort began to take its toll on the island players, a situation that the Madrid team knew how to take advantage of to regain control of the game and settle the clash with the definitive 73-63.

With this result, Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence remains in the eleventh position of the Liga Femenina 2 standings, remaining out of the relegation spots. The Lanzarote team will now face a new opportunity to reunite with victory next week, when the competition returns to the Tías Municipal Pavilion after several away games. The team will host ESCO Grupo Femenino Alcorcón next Sunday at 12:30 p.m., in a key match to continue adding points in the final stretch of the season.
