Magec Tías Lanzarote pays for its initial errors with a defeat against Distrito Olímpico

The red and blacks put on a great display of commitment, but it wasn't enough

BALONCESTO. MAGEC TÍAS DISTRITO OLIMPICO (3)

Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género could not extend its good run of results and suffered a home defeat against Cesur Distrito Olímpico. The team led by Jesús García played a game of two very different halves, in which the reaction after the break excited the fans who attended the Tías Municipal Pavilion and acknowledged the enormous effort shown by the red-and-black players.

The match began with a very sharp Cesur Distrito Olímpico and a Magec Tías Lanzarote that couldn't settle into defense. The inaccuracies in the local rearguard gave space to a Madrid team that controlled the rhythm of the game from the first moments. Despite the good percentage of three-point shots from the red-and-black team, the lack of rebounds and the difficulties in stopping the opponent's offensive plays marked the development of the first part of the clash.

The first quarter ended with a clear 18-30 in favor of the visitors, a gap that widened to 33-50 before halftime. Cesur Distrito Olímpico knew how to exploit every defensive error by the home team and remained firm in controlling the rebounds, making it difficult for the Lanzaroteñas to run or find second chances.Even so, as they have shown on numerous occasions, Magec Tías Lanzarote Contra la Violencia de Género returned from the locker room with character and no intention of giving up. Although the difference reached 20 points at the start of the third quarter, Jesús García's players began a notable resurgence. The defense became more intense, the help arrived with greater force, and the collective effort began to force personal fouls on the Madrid team.

The local energy infected the stands and forced the visiting coach to call a timeout in the face of the red-and-black surge. The third quarter concluded with a 27-20 partial for Magec Tías, who reduced the deficit and regained momentum.

The last period kept the hope of a comeback alive. The Lanzaroteñas even managed to get within six points of Cesur Distrito Olímpico, fueling the fans' excitement. In that phase, the duel turned into an exchange of attacks guided more by heart than by head, with a lot of intensity, contested balls, and rushed plays from both sides. Despite the multiple opportunities created, execution and shooting errors prevented the comeback from being completed

Finally, the Madrid team succeeded at key moments to widen the gap again and close the game with a 66-78 that keeps Cesur Distrito Olímpico at the top of the standings. Magec Tías Lanzarote, for their part, sees their good streak halted, but remains in the mid-table with 4 wins and 4 losses, in addition to having a pending match.

The Lanzarote team will now face a demanding away game in Madrid, where on December 6th they will play ESCO Grupo Femenino Alcorcón, a direct rival currently in fifth place with 6 wins and 3 losses. Magec Tías will seek to return to winning ways by relying on the attitude, dedication, and ability to react that they once again demonstrated in front of their fans.
