PREVIA. GEIEG PACISA MAGEC TÍAS (1)dcc

Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence again came close to victory in a very even match, but ended up yielding in the last quarter against GEIEG Pacisa (75-67). A match marked by the physical wear and tear of the Lanzarote team and referee decisions that conditioned the outcome.

The team led by Jesús García faced a complicated challenge in Gerona territory, with the objective of repeating the victory achieved in Lanzarote against a rival from the top zone of the classification. From the start, the Lanzarotean players showed great defensive intensity and offensive order, which allowed them to dominate the first quarter with a tight 12-14.

Equality was the dominant theme throughout the first half. In the second quarter, both teams constantly exchanged baskets, with slight advantages for the home team that were quickly neutralized by Magec Tías. The solidity and concentration of the visitors allowed them to go into halftime with a minimal advantage (33-35), a reflection of the balance on the court.

After the locker room break, the script of the match was maintained. GEIEG Pacisa managed to open a gap of up to eight points, but the reaction of the Lanzarote team was not long in coming. Drawing on character and collective effort, the players managed to equalize the score at the end of the third quarter (51-51), leaving everything to be decided in the last ten minutes.

The last period began with the same dynamic of alternations on the scoreboard and maximum competitiveness. However, the final stretch was conditioned by referee decisions that unsettled the visiting team. The disqualification of Yaiza García, in a highly protested action, marked a turning point. It is striking that, despite her extensive career, the player has been disqualified on several occasions this season, in situations lacking referee justification.

This circumstance ended up breaking the balance of the match and facilitated the Catalan team securing the victory by 75 to 67, thus consolidating their second position in the standings. Despite the defeat, Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence continues out of the relegation spots thanks to the basket average, although the situation remains delicate.

The team will now have a week without competition to recover players andprepare for the last two commitments of the season. The next match will be on April 11, when it will host CB Claret Benimaclet in Tías, currently fourth in Women's League 2.

The Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence once again demonstrates its competitive capacity and commitment in every game, but the short rotation and external factors are penalizing its performance in decisive moments.
