This past Saturday, the Magec Tías Sports Club experienced one of the most significant nights of the season with the celebration of its traditional gala dinner. The event, which brought together more than six hundred people at the Tías Municipal Pavilion, not only served as the culmination of an intense sports season, but also as a space to recognize the work, dedication and values that define this sports entity committed to education, integration, equality and the fight against gender violence.
The gala dinner became a collective tribute to the spirit of Magec Tías, an entity that this year has once again demonstrated its integrating character both on and off the court. The evening was full of emotional and significant moments for players, coaches, families, collaborators and institutions.
During the event, trophies and diplomas corresponding to the season were awarded, in a team-by-team tour that made it possible to highlight the grassroots work and the club's projection. One of the most moving moments was the screening of videos that reviewed the current campaign, as well as other more personalized ones dedicated to the players who are finishing their training stage at the club. A heartfelt tribute was also paid to the president Yanira Rodríguez, whose work and constant commitment were recognized by all those present.
The sponsors, a fundamental part of the club's growth, also had their deserved recognition, underlining the essential role they play in ensuring that Magec Tías continues to consolidate itself as a benchmark entity on the island. In this context, the collaboration of public administrations was expressly thanked. One of the most outstanding institutional moments was the intervention of Marci Acuña, Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, who presented a symbolic gift that recognizes the club as one of the most active integrating social entities on the island.
The emotion reached its peak with the presentation of awards to the best players by category, selected by their own teammates, as well as the recognition of the best students and the best players of the entire season, highlighting the importance of the balance between sport and academic training.
A particularly symbolic gesture was the presentation of "golden balls" to the directors who have been part of the club's history throughout its 30 years of existence, as well as to those people who have remained faithful to the entity since its first steps. There was also a tribute to the players who came to represent Spain in different categories of the national team and have also defended the colors of Magec Tías.
The gala concluded with music and a lively party that served as a golden end to a night of celebration, memory and community, where those present were able to share anecdotes, experiences and dreams, strengthening the ties that make Magec Tías much more than a sports club; it is a family.
The gala dinner of the Magec Tías Sports Club has been a faithful reflection of the spirit that animates this entity: social commitment, collective effort and passion for sport. Through an event that combined recognition, gratitude and emotion, the club reaffirms its role as an active agent in the social transformation of Lanzarote and as a trainer of people both on and off the court. Magec Tías closes another season with its sights set on continuing to grow and adding efforts in favor of a more just, inclusive and free society.
