Lionel Morales has conquered the third place in the world championship event held this weekend in Hamburg, Germany.

Lionel Morales climbed onto the third step of the podium in his PTS2 category after posting a time of 1:11:25 in the event, only behind Frenchman Jules Ribstein (1:07:41) and the winner in a very tight victory, Belgian Wim De Paepe (1:07:36).

The triathlete from Lanzarote yielded to the two adversaries in the three partial segments, with the cycling leg being Morales's best performance in the German competition.

From Germany, Lionel Morales shared his impressions after the Hamburg World Series event, "first of all, this is a spectacle, an incredible spectacle. The city, the atmosphere, it's exaggerated. They already told us in the briefing that this was going to be very similar to the Paris Games, but this atmosphere everywhere, the people cheering you on, is exaggerated. Very good organization. I came in third."

"I'm still a bit far from the top spots, but, little by little, I'm recovering. I was able to run, which I couldn't do in the Tarragona event, and this time I could run. The water was a bit difficult for me, I don't know why. It could also be because it's a lake and I'm more used to swimming in the sea. I think the cycling went quite well and I saved the run. But, well, a third place in the Hamburg World Series, which is good points. And, shortly, on my way to Tata, Hungary, for another world championship event," concludes the paratriathlete from Lanzarote.
