The sports management of Club Balonmano San José Obrero has been working to close the last incorporation to the women's team, and face the debut in the Guerreras Iberdrola League with the maximum guarantees. The Lanzarote team incorporates the left winger Gabriela Pessoa, a player who has experience in the highest category of Spanish women's handball after her time at Rincón Fertilidad Málaga.

Gabriela Pessoa Constantino, born on July 1, 1994 in Sao Paulo (Brazil), is a left-handed player of 1.70 meters in height who usually occupies the position of right winger on the court, although her versatility allows her to play in other positions in attack and defense. She has a powerful shot on goal, unblocking rival defenses with her outside shot.

In the 2016/2017 season she made the leap to Spain to be part of the sports project of Rincón Fertilidad Málaga in the Guerreras Iberdrola League. In the two seasons she was in the Malaga team, she played 34 matches in the highest category of Spanish handball and scored 117 goals. The last two seasons she has been a player of Maccabi Rishon of Israel.

The coach of CB San José Obrero, David Betancort, defines her as "an experienced player, she has many resources both in attack and defense" and adds that "her style allows her to be a versatile player in attack and be quite intuitive in defense".

The technical manager of the team anticipates that "she is a player who can rotate in different positions", assuring that "she will bring creativity in attack and collective play". "She has played at a very good level in Spain and with a high physical level in Maccabi, she is a fighting player who will adapt very well to the team", concludes the coach.

The signing of Gabriela Pessoa closes the squad of CB San José Obrero for its debut in the Guerreras Iberdrola League, joining the incorporations of goalkeeper Aleksandra Orowicz, center Gabi Romero, wingers Sara de León, Priscila dos Santos and Nagore Saenz, and winger Elena Fortes.
