Last weekend, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club traveled to the island of El Hierro to participate in the TTR Valverde, a competition that brought together outstanding Canarian badminton players.
The Lanzarote expedition was made up of Jorge Betancort, Eduardo Curbelo, Marcos Verges, Aduen Betancor, Aday González, Atenea Morales, Amanay Gómez, Indara Arrocha, Wing Choi, Aday Flores, Luis Hernández, and Raúl Hernández.
The results obtained were outstanding, especially in the Under-17 category. In the women's singles modality, Atenea Morales was proclaimed champion after defeating the player from Fuerteventura, Celia Cabrera, in the final.
In men's singles, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club signed an entirely Lanzarotean final, with Eduardo Curbelo rising to the title of champion and Jorge Betancort achieving the runner-up position.
In women's doubles, the pair formed by Amanay Gómez and Indara Arrocha won a silver medal after falling in the final against the representatives from Fuerteventura.
For their part, Atenea Morales and Jorge Betancort once again demonstrated their high level in mixed doubles, being proclaimed champions again and conquering the gold medal.
The pair formed by Aday Hernández and Aduen Betancor also stood out, achieving a valuable bronze medal after playing very close and competitive matches. Likewise, Marcos Verges and Eduardo Curbelo climbed onto the podium again by winning the silver medal in their modality.
In the absolute category, the club's player and coach Aday Flores brought new joy to the expedition by conquering the silver medal in men's doubles.
With these excellent results, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club returns home with a total of 12 medals, confirming the great sporting moment their players are going through and the excellent work being developed by the entity.
