The Canary Islands Championship of Rhythmic Gymnastics Individual Base Female and Male turned Lanzarote into the "epicenter" of regional gymnastics during a weekend full of talent, effort and passion for this sport.
The event, which brought together more than 230 gymnasts from all over the Canary Islands, was held in the Teguise Municipal Pavilion, where the participants demonstrated a very high competitive level in each of their categories. The days, organized by the Canary Islands Gymnastics Federation, the Tenesa Sol Club and the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, had great institutional support and the presence of numerous public that vibrated with the performances of the athletes.
"Lanzarote continues to consolidate itself as a key destination for holding high-level sports competitions. This championship not only promotes rhythmic gymnastics on our island, but also reinforces our sports tourism strategy, attracting athletes, teams and families who enjoy our hospitality and excellent facilities," said the president and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort.
For his part, the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, highlighted the "excellent organization of the championship and the Cabildo's commitment to the development of gymnastics on the island." "It is a pride to see Lanzarote become the venue for an event of this magnitude, with a very high level of competition and a great atmosphere in the stands. From the Island Sports Service, we will continue to bet on the growth of this discipline and to bring events to the island that promote the talent of our athletes and promote healthy lifestyle habits." Monzón also thanked the Teguise City Council and its Sports Councilor, Alejandro Ramírez, for hosting this championship in the Teguise Pavilion.
The championship jury, made up of 13 judges, evaluated the performances and selected the gymnasts who will represent the Canary Islands in the next Spanish Championship, ensuring that the island's talent continues to shine at the national level.
On Sunday, the trophies and awards were presented in different categories, in which the third vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Francisco J. Aparicio, and the Councilor for Sports of Teguise, Alejandro Ramírez, were present.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote thanks "the effort of all the people and institutions involved in the organization, as well as the participation of the gymnasts, coaches and families who have made this event an authentic gymnastics festival."
