Lanzarote chess already knows its champions

José María Salazar, Pedro Tomás Pérez, Katharina Bangievy and Jan Thomas Norgreen will represent the Island in the Canary Islands Championship to be held in La Palma

Celebration of the Canarian Chess League at the Sociedad Democracia

The absolute, female, veteran and youth chess categories in Lanzarote already know the champions of the 2022 island league. 

The Chess Club of the Sociedad Democracia hosted this Monday the last day of the Individual Island Chess Championships of Lanzarote of the current 2022 season.

In the absolute category, José María Salazar took first place, followed by Pedro Tomás Pérez who came in second position. Both belong to the 1Chess club, while the third classified, Agustín Ruiz, is a member of the Esacan - Cacharro club.

As for the veterans, Pedro Tomás Pérez, from Club 1Chess, was the winner in first position, followed by MArcelino Ramos and Migue Morales, who were in second and third position, respectively. These two participants also belong to Club 1Chess.

In the female category it was Katharina Bangiev, from Esacan - Cacharros, who took first position. Alexia de Ganzo, from the CIAL club, was the runner-up, while in third place was Alvia Dsouza, from Esacan - Cacharros.

Finally, in the youth category, Jan Thomas Norgreen, from Club 1Chess, won the title of champion. Second place went to Juluis Pleschke, from Esacan - Cacharros, while third place went to Edward Sánchez, from CIAL. 

The champions of the four categories will represent Lanzarote chess in the respective Canary Islands Championships, which will be held from June 2 to 5 on the island of La Palma. The participation in these championships has been 18 players in the absolute and veteran tournament and 24 in the youth and female tournament.
