The Island Sports Service presented, on Monday morning, a new edition of the Christmas Gymnastics Festival, an annual event that brings together hundreds of gymnasts from the island of Lanzarote.
The presentation, which had to take place this Monday after being canceled last Friday due to the weather alert, was attended by the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, as well as representatives from several clubs participating in this edition.
"Without a doubt, the big news this year is that in addition to the traditional island gala where all the clubs will delight us with their annual work at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote; each of the teams has a day this week to hold a complete gala just for them," stated the councilor, who clarified that this new initiative already kicked off last Sunday with the gala organized by the Isla de Lanzarote club.
More than 800 gymnasts will pass through the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote throughout this week, during which the different club events will be held, in addition to the island gala that will take place this Thursday, December 18, at 8:00 PM, with completely free admission.
Furthermore, the traditional solidarity gift collection will be held on Thursday, where attendees will be able to leave gifts that will be donated to social organizations so that no child on Lanzarote and La Graciosa is left without a Christmas present.
“I invite all citizens to visit this Gymnastics Festival, which will be full of surprises and fun in our renovated Sports City,” he concluded.
