UD Lanzarote quantifies its debt at 86,700 euros

Unión Deportiva Lanzarote held its usual Ordinary General Assembly on Friday night, taking stock of the season that has just ended and informing its members of the club's current economic situation. The Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote has quantified the entity's real debt at this time at 86,700 euros, a debt that it has managed to reduce by almost 60,000 euros compared to the previous season. In addition, the first brushstrokes of what will be the 2012-2013 season were given.

As has been happening in previous seasons, UD Lanzarote has separate accounts for the lower categories and those of the first team. There is a forecast of income of 22,000 euros, corresponding to the subsidies that the Arrecife City Council and the Cabildo de Lanzarote have not yet paid.

If the income forecasts are met, the income statement for the lower categories would be balanced in the current season. The club's secretary, Domingo Gil, recalled that there is a non-payment of fees by parents of 4,600 euros and stated that the "base of UD Lanzarote can walk alone if parents commit to face all fees".

Readjustments of the inherited debt

A debt that has been reclassified as medium or long term. From the 2008-2009 season, 8,000 euros are owed to the players Eliot, Acai and Saúl. A money that has not been claimed by the players and that is reclassified to medium term as there is no pressure for its immediate payment.

These are small amounts owed to different suppliers or people who were in the team in the past, which has not been claimed and which is understood to have been forgiven. And from the 2007-2008 season, a debt of 65,000 euros is still dragging on, corresponding to the club's lower categories.

In total, 106,000 euros have been reclassified as medium or long-term debt. A money that UD Lanzarote will have to face, although without the urgency that endangers the continuity of the entity.
