The Teguise City Council has announced the road closures that will occur due to the celebration of the Triathlon World Cup, which will take place next March 13 and 14 in the town of Costa Teguise.
Zones where parking will be prohibited
The council has prohibited parking and driving in the parking area of Canary Islands Avenue, located in front of Las Cucharas Shopping Center, between Sunday, March 8 at 10:00 p.m. until Monday, March 16 at 8:00 p.m. For loading and unloading, access will be permitted on Mondays, March 9 and 16 between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Also it will be prohibited to park in the parking area of the Avenue of the Palm Trees, which is located in front of the H10 Suites Lanzarote Gardens hotel, between March 10 at 22:00 hours, until March 15 at 14:00 hours.
The majority of the parking prohibitions will occur from the night of this Friday, March 13, starting at 10:00 p.m. until Saturday at 7:00 p.m. During this period, parking will not be allowed on Avenida Islas Canarias, from the intersection of Los Dragos street to the roundabout towards Los Ancones.
To which is added that neither will it be possible to park on Mástil street, on Los Charcos beach. Neither will it be possible to park during that period on Las Palmeras Avenue, from the Los Ancones roundabout until the intersection with Ruta del Norte street, nor on La Atalaya, Ruta del Norte and Las Acacias streets.
Streets cut off on Friday
This very Friday 13, a cycle-sport march will be held, between 10:00 and 11:00 hours, so a single lane will be closed to the passage of the peloton. This event will run from the intersection of Avenida Islas Canarias with Calle Las Acacias, continues along the Avenue to the roundabout towards Los Ancones, follows along Avenida de Las Palmeras and along Calle Atalaya and Ruta del Norte, returning to Las Palmeras and finishing on Calle Las Acacias.
Streets cut off on Saturday
Teguise's council has prohibited circulation, between 06:00 and 23:00 on Saturday, on Las Acacias street and on Islas Canarias Avenue, between Los Dragos street and Mástil street, except residents and access to Gardens Pharmacy. To be able to access the pharmacy, it must be done from the intersection of Islas Canarias Avenue with Los Dragos street.
Between 9:00 and 19:30 on Saturday, it will also not be possible to drive on Avenida Islas Canarias, between Mástil street up to the roundabout towards Los Ancones, nor on Avenida de Las Palmeras, in the section between the roundabout towards Los Ancones up to Ruta del Norte street. Finally, it will be prohibited to drive between La Atalaya street and Ruta del Norte street.
Vehicles will be allowed to leave in a regulated manner between 9:00 and 14:30 on Saturday afternoon and the entry of residents through Los Crotos street from Jablillo Avenue or El Golf Avenue, between 12:45 and 14:30.
From 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, traffic will be totally prohibited, except in cases of maximum urgency or emergency.
Finally, the bus stop of Hotel Salinas, in both directions, and the taxi stops of Salinas and Siroco remain cancelled.
