The organization of the XVI Ocean Lava Lanzarote 2026 has reported this Wednesday on the road closures that will take place this weekend in the Puerto del Carmen area due to the development of the sporting event.
Affected Roads and Times
1 | Avenida de Las Playas | from C/ Lapa to C/ Rusia | 07:00 to 12:00 hours.
2 | Avenida de Las Playas | from C/ Yugoslavia to C/ Rusia | 07:00 to 16:00 hours
3 | Calle Noruega | from Avenida La Playas to Rambla Islas Canarias | 07:00 to 11:30 hours
13 | LZ-40 (Airport-Puerto del Carmen) | from the Matagora detour to El Toro | 07:00 to 11:30 hours
Closures Friday, October 23rd
From 07:00 to 14:00 hours on Saturday, October 24th, an extension of the closure of Avenida de Las Playas between C/ Noruega and C/ Lapa, with a detour via C/ Rusia > C/ Suiza > Avenida Francia > C/ Hungría.
From 07:00 to 11:30 hours, closure of Calle Noruega between Avenida Las Playas and Rambla Islas Canarias; closure of the section of Rambla Islas Canarias between C/ Noruega and the roundabout of C/ Finlandia; and closure of both lanes of the LZ-40 between the El Toro roundabout and the Matagorda detour.
Due to this closure, the following is specified:

Access to Rancho Texas and CPDEM Hispano Británico will not be enabled until 09:30 hours. However, access to and from both establishments will be possible between 08:00 and 11:30 hours via Camino Majón Negro from Lugar de Abajo de Tias. From 09:30 hours onwards, access will be enabled via Calle Noruega from Calle Hungria and from Rambia Islas Canarias.

Regulated crossing of C/ Noruega will only be permitted for taxis and buses via Avenida Francia. Taxis and buses will be able to cross Calle Noruega throughout the affected time period (07:00 to 11:30 hours) from Matagorda towards Rambla Islas Canarias (from C/ Rusia, C/ Suiza, and Avenida Francia) and from Rambla Islas Canarias towards Matagorda (from C/ Bélgica, C/ Holanda, Avenida Italia, and Avenida Francia).
From 07:00 to 11:30 hours, closure of the LZ-40 (Puerto del Carmen Ring Road) between the El Toro roundabout and the Matagorda detour.
For access to Puerto del Carmen, it is recommended:

Between 07:00 and 11:30, access via Matagorda (from INDELASA) is only for destinations in the Pocillos and Matagorda area. Access via Tías for the rest of the destinations in Puerto del Carmen.

Access via Mácher and Puerto Calero towards C/ Reina Sofia will remain open at all times.

Access via Tías via the LZ-505 (golf course) towards Calle Juan Carlos I will remain open at all times.
Exits from Puerto del Carmen will be as follows:

The exit from C/ Juan Carlos I towards the LZ-40 direction Airport-Arrecife and direction El Toro (Puerto Calero or Mächer) at the height of Hospiten will be closed at 05:30.

The exit from C/ Reina Sofia (El Toro roundabout) towards the LZ-40 in the direction of Airport-Arrecife will be closed at 06:30. The exit in the direction of Puerto Calero or Macher will remain open at all times.

The Tias to Puerto del Carmen road (LZ-505) will remain open to access and exit Puerto del Carmen via C/ Juan Carlos I during the entire time period.

The exit from Matagorda only in the direction of Airport-Arrecife will remain open at all times.
