Karate Poliarrecife Club wins three golds and one silver in the Karate Championship of the capital

The club participated with nine young karatekas, including Amelie Skiba, Mohamed Kouchamy, Gael Suárez and Caleb Padrón, who were in charge of bringing the medals.

Karate Poliarrecife players in the Capital Karate Championship

The Karate Poliarrecife Club, in its participation in the Arrecife Karate Championship last Saturday, won three golds and one silver. The Titerroy municipal pavilion hosted the regional event, promoted by the Department of Sports and organized by the Canary Karate Federation, which was attended by 130 athletes from four of the islands: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

The Karate Poliarrecife club, which participated with nine young karatekas, obtained good results with one of the participating couples: gold in Kumite Cadet Female Open by Amelie Skiba and gold in Kumite Children's Male Open by Mohamed Kouchamy. In the children's category, Gael Suárez won gold in Kata Benjamin Masculino and Caleb Padrón took the silver in Kata Juvenil Masculino.

The athletes of the Arrecife club were assisted by Juan Nicolás Lasso and José Miguel Ortega, who acted as coaches. The arbitration team was made up of referees from Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, with Jeremías Lasso, Mark Zhi García and José Antonio Lasso being the representatives of Lanzarote arbitration in the event.
