Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen achieved another victory this Saturday at the Pabellón Anaitasuna in Pamplona during their visit to Anaitasuna (24-28), in a match corresponding to the fifth matchday of the División de Honor Oro.
Third consecutive victory for the tiñoseras who had a poor first half, compensated by a notable improvement after halftime, which they reached six goals down. Jesús Casanova's squad trailed on the scoreboard until the last five minutes of the match. The comeback began in the fortieth minute of the game. Something clicked for the tiñoseras players and they stepped on the gas to achieve a more than meritorious partial in the last twenty minutes of the match (3-13) which would allow them to finally take the victory.
With this victory, the aurinegro team is sixth in the standings with six points, just two points behind the leaders, Caja Rural Aula Valladolid and Lauko Ermuko Errotabarri. The Navarrese team remains in eleventh place with two points and a record of one win and three losses.
Two tiñoseras players became the top scorers of the match with nine goals each, Bea Masseu and Dely Leiva. Carla Rivas added another six goals. Among the home team, Nerea Aguinagalde stood out in the offensive facet with six goals.
After the match, the tiñosero coach, Jesús Casanova, commented that "instead of one match, we can say we played two matches. Disastrous first half, nothing worked, the goalkeeper a little, but neither defense, nor counter-attack, nor offense, with many individual errors, many turnovers, in short, a very bad game. Fortunately, at halftime we were able to rectify the situation and, although we didn't start entirely well, the truth is that, little by little, we were getting back on the track we wanted and we were able to overcome that deficit, which was eight goals down at the start of the second half. Achieving these two points puts us in a comfortable position, although there is still a lot of league left," concluded the aurinegro coach.
Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen plays again in a week and a half, on Wednesday, November 4th, at the Municipal de Tías, at 8:30 PM with the visit of Vino Doña Berenguela Bm. Bolaños, a team that this week drew twenty-two goals at home against San José Obrero.
