A championship that has been held in the Granada town of Salobreña.

Helena Joana Li from Lanzarote, Spanish U-12 Chess Champion

Helena Joana Li from Lanzarote, from the CIAL Lanzarote Club, has won the Spanish U12 chess championship, after winning in the ninth round held on the morning of this Saturday. Helena Joana is the current champion of the Canary Islands in the category and was also in the past season 2020.

A championship that has been held from last Monday the 5th to this Saturday the 10th of July, in the Granada town of Salobreña.

A total of seven canaries have participated in this Championship, six children. Among the children, the best classified, in the 15th position of the general classification with 6 positions, the palmero player Alberto Bethencourt. He is followed by Julius Pleschke from Lanzarote from the Tinajo Chess School, with 5 points.

For his part, the champion of the Canary Islands in the category, Gabriel Rivero from Galdar, with 4.5 points, finished in 82nd place among the 164 participants.

The other three canarian children have been classified as follows. Iker Díaz with 5 points in 72nd place. Álvaro Mora, with 4 points in 107th place and Andrés Padrón, with 4 points, in 115th place.
