On Saturday, November 7, the second of the National Karate League events corresponding to the Benjamin, Cadet, Junior, and Youth categories was held at the Paco Paz Sports Palace, in the city of Ourense, in which the Poliarrecife Karate Club participated with three young karatekas.
The young karateka from Poliarrecife Karate Club, Gael Suárez González, managed to put together a very good performance in the Kumite Cadet Male -34 kg category. He fought four bouts, in which he achieved three victories and only one defeat.
Great work also by Marius Sasu and Mohamed Kouchamy, who participated in Kumite Youth Male +60 and -50 Kg, respectively, although they fell in the first round in very hard-fought bouts, and who started dominating in both cases, not having obtained a chance for repechage, with which they could not compete for medals.
It is Gael's second national Bronze in 2026, as he also achieved it in Logroño, in February, in the first round of the LNK in the category. With his results, Gael confirms his qualification for the Grand Final of the National Karate League which will be held in Guadalajara, in December, and for which only the top eight classified in each category qualify.
With this new qualification, there are now two karatekas from the Arrecife club who will be in the Grand Final of the National League. Gael Suárez González, in Cadet Male Kumite -34, and Abdalla El Jaafari, in Master Male Kumite Vetx1 +75.
