Full of medals for the Karate Poliarrecife competitors in the XXI Villa de los Realejos Championship

The Karate Poliarrecife competitors in the XXI Villa de los Realejos Championship

Last Sunday, May 21, at the Basilio Labrador Municipal Pavilion in Los Realejos (Tenerife), the XXII Villa de Los Realejos Championship was held, a regional competition organized by the Canary Islands Federation of
Karate, which was attended by 400 karatekas from the Islands. Three karatekas from the Club Karate Poliarrecife traveled to this championship to participate in four categories, reaching the podium in all of them, obtaining first place in the three kumite categories in which they participated, as well as third place in the kata modality.

  • Amelie Skiba, Champion in Female Cadet Kumite -47 -54 kg.
  • Gael Guadalupe Barreto, Champion in Male Youth Kumite - 42 -48kg,
  • Caleb Padrón Alonso, Champion in Male Children's Kumite -35 - 40 kg.
  • Amelie Skiba, Third place in Female Cadet Kata.

The competitors were assisted in Coach duties by Juan Nicolás Lasso. Jeremías Lasso, Mark García and José Antonio Lasso were present as referees from Lanzarote.

Without a doubt, Poliarrecife is consolidated as one of the leading clubs in the Canary Islands in terms of competition in the youngest categories. The club's next stop will be in Poreč (Croatia), on the occasion of the WKF Youth League that will be held from June 29 to July 2, where Amelie Skiba will participate in the Kata Female U14 and Kumite Female U14 -52 kg modalities.
