The CajaCanarias Foundation celebrated this Sunday, July 12, the closing ceremony of the first session of its XIV Canarian Wrestling Campus which, since last July 7, has been held in the municipality of Yaiza (Lanzarote), with the collaboration of the aforementioned town hall.

The event took place at the Emilio Machín municipal arena, the training center for this fourteenth edition, and was attended by Fernando Sánchez, director of Communication, Image, and Institutional Relations of the CajaCanarias Foundation. Likewise, the heads of the technical team of this initiative, Rucadén González, Abián González, and Laura Marrero, were present at the award ceremony for medals and diplomas.

This first session of the XIV CajaCanarias Foundation Canarian Wrestling Campus was composed of the boys and girls who, coming from Tenerife, Lanzarote, La Palma, El Hierro, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura, managed to qualify for the grand final of the VI Torneo del Fajín in the prebenjamín and benjamín categories, both in the female and male divisions, held on November 30, 2025, at the Vecindario arena (Gran Canaria).

The next session, which will be held between July 21 and 27, will feature the 32 finalists from the alevín and juvenil categories of the VI Torneo del Fajín who, like the boys and girls of this first session, will participate in a comprehensive training program in which the most outstanding wrestlers of the archipelago will take part, in addition to enjoying excursions, practice of other sports disciplines, talks, and workshops.
