FC Puerto del Carmen Conquers a Golden Point Against CD Achamán

On Saturday afternoon, FC Puerto del Carmen took an almost definitive step to seal their permanence in Group 6 of the Women's First National League as soon as possible, achieving a valuable draw against CD Achamán. The Tiñoseras were able to stand up to one of the teams in the upper area of the standings, putting the Gran Canaria team in trouble for many minutes and only lacked the tranquility in the final meters to finish the attacking plays.

FC Puerto del Carmen jumped onto the field with the aim of taking control of the game and being the team that would manage the situation. The locals played in this first half in favor of the intense wind that blew in the Municipal of Puerto del Carmen, being the ones who best adapted to the situation.

The strategy of FC Puerto del Carmen was clear in this first half. To be organized on the field, to pressure the circulation of the opponent's ball and to go on the attack based on quick counterattacks. The players led by Jack Talbot approached the area with danger, although they did not have enough tranquility to finish the attacking plays.

One of the best chances for Puerto del Carmen came in the 39th minute. A cross-shot from Janet from the left wing went just over the crossbar of the goal defended by Lia. The first 45 minutes ended with a goalless draw.

CD Achamán had more presence on the field in the second half, stretching lines in search of the goal defended by Naza. In addition, Puerto del Carmen was paying for the physical wear and tear and the impossibility of having a greater depth of bench. A second half that began with an opportunity for the visitor Joana and it was a defender who took the ball under the posts.

The minutes passed and there were hardly any dangerous plays on the field. FC Puerto del Carmen fought and worked to keep the ball as far away as possible from the domains defended by Naza. The arrivals of the locals in this second part were less, although Kiara and Nieves worked to put the defenders of CD Achamán in danger.

With the goalless draw, the match came to an end, with FC Puerto del Carmen adding a point to place themselves in the eighth position of the standings and have a 13-point advantage over the relegation zone with five official matches remaining. The Tiñoseras travel to Gran Canaria next weekend to face Unión Viera.
