Maximum equality in the 44th Calero Marinas Cup after a demanding third day marked by wind instability

The 44Cup Calero Marinas experienced this Saturday a third day as technical as it was unpredictable in Puerto Calero, with very variable wind conditions that tested the skill and decision-making of the crews

The day began postponed due to lack of wind. Although the start was scheduled for 13:00 hours, during the skipper briefing the regatta director, María Torrijo, announced a new postponement of half an hour. The first race was started, which had to be annulled, finally restarting at 14:00 hoursThe Northwest wind, with intensities between 7 and 10 knots, generated a particularly complicated race course, with constant shifts and pressure differences that offered very varied scenarios along the course, forcing the teams to demonstrate all their tactical skillIn the first race of the day, the victory went to Team Aqua, followed by Aleph and Peninsula Racing. After the race, Chris Bake, skipper of Aqua, commented:

"The wind entered very slowly and veered to the right at the start. That allowed us to find a good position from the beginning and maintain the lead until the end"

The second heat was won by Nika, with a very tight finish. Team Aqua finished in second position and Aleph completed the podiumIn the third regatta, an incident at the start between Nika and Artemis resulted in a two-point penalty for Nika. The race was led for a large part of the course by Gemera, but a wrong strategic decision in the final stretch caused it to lose the lead in favor of Península Racing. The finish was very tight between Península, Gemera, and Aleph, who crossed the line in that orderThe public was able to enjoy the regatta from the sea thanks to the unique observation outing offered by Calero Marinas, which allowed them to experience the competition up close and follow the action from the boat. In addition, the RC44 class Hospitality program stood out, offering guests the opportunity to sail aboard one of these one-design boats and experience the adrenaline of the most consolidated Owner-Driver class on the national nautical scene.

The competition faces its final day this Sunday, with everything still to be decided. The general classification reflects maximum equality, with the top three positions separated by a single point: Gemera – 29 points, Península Racing – 30 points, and Team Aqua – 31 points.
