The Lanzarote Quemao Class, the town of La Santa, and the surfing community paid tribute this Saturday to the memory of David Infante “El Fula,” in a memorial filled with emotion and respect, in remembrance of the surfer who lost his life in the El Quemao wave in 2009.
“It’s emotional to see the town and the competitors so involved in the memorial,” highlighted Héctor Rodríguez, co-director of the event. “We want people to keep remembering him; the Lanzarote Quemao Class is held in his memory. Remembering him in each edition is an essential part of the event.”
The Fuerteventura bodyboarder, Ruyman Rey, also highlighted the importance this memorial has for those who knew him. “I was lucky enough to know him, and today is a day of great emotions for me. Seeing how the event pays tribute to “El Fula” in each edition is very important to us, and we are happy to be a part of it.”
After the memorial, attention now shifts to this Sunday, February 22nd, when the competition of the 9th edition of the Lanzarote Quemao Class will begin starting at 8 in the morning.
