El Lanzaloe, mathematical champion of the Canary Islands chess league

After defeating CA Vecindario

Celebration of the Canarian Chess League at the Sociedad Democracia

After the forced break due to the state of alarm due to Covid-19, the Canary Islands Chess Federation, chaired by Agustín Santana, held the penultimate day of this Canary Islands Chess League this Saturday the 11th in a concentration regime at the Sociedad La Democracia in Lanzarote. A lunch of fellowship for all the participating teams with the board of directors of the Canary Islands Federation held in the Museo El Campesino restaurant would open Saturday's session so that later, around 5 in the afternoon, the start of the penultimate day would begin.

Regarding the clashes, the most notable thing is that the victory of CA Lanzaloe over CA Vecindario has mathematically proclaimed it Champion of the Canary Islands Chess League with one day to go. The other matches would not give many surprises, with logic being fulfilled in most of them.

The emotion remains for the last day to know which team will occupy the second and third position between CA Fundación Cajacanarias and CA Ebano-Barrionuevo Viña Nava since the relegation places are almost confirmed. On Sunday, on the last day that will be held from 9:00 a.m., the matches will be CA Ebano-Barrio Nuevo Viña Nava-CA Fundación La Caja, CA Los Realejos-CA Guia, CA Lanzaloe-CD Herbania, CA Roque Niquiomo-CA Vecindario, CA Fundación Cajacanarias-CA Grandama Santa Lucía.

The Federation highlights the support of Lanzaloe, Cicar, Tourist Centers of Lanzarote, Sociedad La Democracia, Hotel Cardona among others, "since without these sponsors it would not have been possible to celebrate this important Canary Chess competition".

As a novelty of this competition, it should be noted that the games were broadcast live on the networks thanks to the contribution and collaboration of CA Vecindario, which provided 20 electronic boards, which allowed that, apart from the public that attended the event, the competition could be followed in a projection room prepared for this purpose by thousands of spectators from all over the world.
