This afternoon, the César Manrique RCNA – Calero Marinas Trophy officially kicked off with the skippers' meeting at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife facilities, the starting point for the first regatta of the 2025 Canarian Cruise Sailing Circuit. The organization plans to hold three races over the weekend, pending confirmation of whether the coastal regatta will be held on Saturday the 16th.

With 24 boats registered and a fleet arriving from different islands, the event promises a great spectacle on the Lanzarote race course. Among the most recognized units that are repeating participation is Cristóbal Amador's Matador, a classic of this competition: “Lanzarote is a special place for me, sailing here is a reunion with fellow sailors. There is always a great atmosphere in this regatta and we feel very welcome.”

The Principal Race Officer, Fátima Cerezo, faces her first experience in this trophy with great enthusiasm: “It is the first time that I am going to the César Manrique, I am very excited, really. Sailing in Lanzarote is wonderful, it always has very good conditions and the team to make it go well is one of the best. I am convinced that we will have some incredible days. I hope we have stable wind to do the three scheduled races and that all the sailors leave with a good taste in their mouths. It is
important that it goes well because people from all the islands and of all ages sail, and when these regattas work, more people are encouraged to participate and we have more and more boats in the water.”

Cerezo, a judge and territorial officer for years and a national race officer A since January, has extensive experience, especially in dinghy sailing, although in recent years she has added more and more events in the cruiser class: “Anything that helps, learns and encourages regattas to go ahead, I love it.”

The organization of the César Manrique RCNA – Calero Marinas Trophy has the institutional and promotional support of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote Tourism, the Sports Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and Arrecife Tourism.

During the weekend, the port of Arrecife and its surroundings will be the epicenter of Canarian sailing, with boats and crews ready to provide a first-class sporting spectacle in the waters of Lanzarote.
