Costa Teguise Judo Club wins nine medals at the Canary Islands Championship

The judokas from Lanzarote, with the Conejera team, won the bronze medal by islands after achieving eleven medals, nine for the Teguise judokas in the individual competition by weight, categories and gender

Good harvest achieved by the Costa Teguise Lanzarote Judo Club (CJCT) in the LXII Canary Islands School Age Judo Championships in the Children and Cadet category held last Sunday, March 23, in the Gran Canaria Sports City, with the presence of more than 250 judokas and technicians from the selections of seven islands, a true celebration of Canary Judo at school age.

The judokas from Lanzarote, with the Conejera team, won the bronze medal by islands after achieving eleven medals, nine for the Teguise judokas in the individual competition by weight, categories and gender.

The head of the Teguise entity, Antonio Ramírez, congratulates "the youth academy of the Costa Teguise Lanzarote Judo Club after an unforgettable day at the Canary Islands Championship. They have returned with an immense bag of experience and fantastic achievements. With the nine medals we repeated the result of 2024. I would like to highlight the result in the 48 kg Women's Children weight where the three Judokas from Costa Teguise took the entire podium. In addition, four of the club's judokas achieved qualification for the grand final of the Spanish Championship to be held in Huesca by the Canary team on April 27."

Gold: Sofía Ramos and Eli Díaz.

Silver: Laura López and Eimy Curbelo.

Bronze: Irene Moreno, Lucía Ramos, Martina Suárez, Eira Ferreiro and Alberto Medina.

Finally, Anxo Cooper, Asier Morales and Omar El Farouah achieved fifth place each.
