The Chinijos Balonmano Club of Costa Teguise was proclaimed champion of the Canary Islands in the male cadet category, after winning in the final phase held in the Villa de Teguise, where the club acted as host.

The Lanzarote team thus adds its second regional title in just fifteen days, after the one achieved in the children's category, consolidating a historic season for the entity.

In the final, Chinijos beat Tacoronte, in a match that ended 36-21, and where the Chicharrero team finished in second place. The tournament standings were completed by Gáldar, Realejos, Moya, and Ciudad de Puerto.

The championship stood out for the excellent atmosphere in the stands, the sportsmanship between the teams, and the good organization of the event throughout the weekend.

From the club, we want to thank the support of the Teguise City Council, the Cabildo of Lanzarote through its Sports department, the Canary Federation, as well as sponsors, parents, and volunteers, whose involvement was fundamental for the development of the tournament.

Likewise, the Chinijos Handball Club took the opportunity to demand the need for a pavilion in Costa Teguise, a key infrastructure for the sporting growth of the municipality.

The team is already preparing its participation in the national sector, scheduled for the weekend of May 14, with the ambition of continuing to compete at the highest level.
