CD Nadamas – Santa Rosa signs an outstanding performance in Gran Canaria

The Lanzarote club wins 26 podiums and two regional records in the Qualifying Championship

The CD Nadamas – Santa Rosa returned from Gran Canaria after a successful weekend of competition at the Qualifying Championship for territorial teams, held at the CN Metropole facilities. The Lanzarote expedition, made up of 16 swimmers from the alevín, infantil, and junior categories, concluded their participation with a record of 26 podiums, 14 golds, 9 silvers, and 3 bronzes, and the establishment of two new regional records.

During the first day, the juniors Diego Vázquez and Nora Delgado achieved first place in the 100-meter butterfly, while junior Naira Jaén won the 400-meter individual medley. Juan José Ramos's second place in the 50-meter backstroke, in the junior category, was added to these results, inaugurating a weekend of high achievements for the Costa Teguise club.The second day saw a larger turnout and once again featured outstanding performances. The pre-teen Andrea Fraga took second place in the 50-meter freestyle, a race in which the pre-teen Diego Vázquez claimed victory. The pre-teen Lois Chantada also reached first place in the 200-meter breaststroke, as did Katia Pérez (pre-teen) and Naira Jaén (junior) in the 800-meter freestyle

Diego Vázquez repeated his triumph in the 50-meter butterfly and the 200-meter freestyle, the latter being a race in which he set a new regional record for 14-year-olds in a 50-meter pool, with a time of 2'00''07, surpassing the record set in 2012. In that same race, Naira Jaén was second in the junior category and Nicolás Emiliano Padrón third in the children's category.

Likewise, Lois Chantada was second in the 50-meter breaststroke; Juan José Ramos and Natalia Emilia Sasu reached second and third place, respectively, in the 200-meter backstroke; and the junior Nicolás Padrón closed the day with a victory in the 1,500-meter freestyle

The third and final day confirmed the team's excellent form. In the 100-meter freestyle, Andrea Fraga was proclaimed winner in the junior category, while Diego Vázquez not only took first place but also set a new regional record for 14-year-olds in a 50-meter pool with a time of 54.80 seconds, improving the previous mark set last June.

In the 100-meter backstroke, Andrea Fraga was second in the pre-junior category, Juan José Ramos second in the junior category, and Natalia Emilia Sasu second in the youth category. Nora Delgado achieved victory in the 200-meter butterfly for juniors, and in the 400-meter freestyle, Nicolás Padrón (junior) and Naira Jaén (youth) were victorious, with a third position for Katia Pérez in the junior category. Finally, Lois Chantada secured a commendable second place in the 100-meter breaststroke for pre-juniors.

The CD Nadamas – Santa Rosa expedition returned to Lanzarote with a very positive assessment of the work done, reflected in the high number of podiums and the achievement of two regional records. These results reinforce the club's sporting progression and endorse the training work carried out by its technical staff, consolidating CD Nadamas – Santa Rosa as a benchmark for grassroots and competitive swimming in the Canary Islands.
