The town of Olbia, in Sardinia, hosted a few days ago the Italian Windsurfer Championship, a competition that was attended by three athletes from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. The most outstanding result was achieved by Carlos Morales, who was proclaimed champion of the “heavyweights” category, showing great superiority on the race course throughout the different heats disputed.
The Italian Windsurfer Championship was attended by Carlos Morales, Pedro Medina, and Eric Yoldjoglou; the first two participated in the “heavyweights” category and Yoldjoglou competed in the “light-middleweight” category. The competition had a high participation in the open category, being an excellent test for the World Championship to be held in South Africa in the coming months.
Carlos Morales showed great consistency throughout all the days of sailing, which allowed him to take the lead in the overall standings of the “heavyweights” category of the Italian Windsurfer Championship. The athlete from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife won four heats, was second in two races, and third in one.
In the “heavyweights” category, Pedro Medina finished in twelfth position in the overall standings of the Italian Windsurfer Championship. And Eric Yoldjoglou finished the competition in eleventh position in the “light-middleweight” category.
The president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero, and the Board of Directors, wish to congratulate Carlos Morales for the excellent performance in the Italian Windsurfer Championship. Congratulations are also extended to Pedro Medina and Eric Yoldjoglou for the results obtained in one of the highest-level European competitions.
