The San José Obrero Handball Club continues to restructure its technical organization, and in addition to the changes announced last week with the appointment of Alfredo Rodríguez as the new sporting director, there is a change on the bench of the women's team. The Italian-Argentine coach Carlos Britos will be in charge of leading the CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife for the remainder of the season, a coach in whom the sporting management has the utmost confidence and who led his first training session on Monday night.

Carlos Britos, born on June 11, 1981, in Buenos Aires (Argentina), holds the EHF Master Coach qualification, and after five seasons as a professional player in Italy, he made the leap to coaching. He managed Ariosto Ferrara for six years and Pallamano Leno for two, both teams in Italy's Serie A. Currently, he is the assistant coach of the Italian women's national team and is the head coach of the junior (U19) team.

Upon his arrival at CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, Carlos Britos states he is "very happy for this opportunity" and assures that "we have an important challenge ahead." "It's an important challenge for me and for my career; as soon as they contacted me and offered me this opportunity, I accepted quickly," the coach explains.

The new coach knows the work that has been done with the team perfectly, and in the last two years he has shared the bench with Alfredo Rodríguez with Italy. "The idea is to continue with Alfredo Rodríguez's work, not to make big changes because the players are adapted to this system," he comments.

Carlos Britos led his first training session on Monday night at the helm of CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, with the players returning to work after a two-week break. "It's been two weeks of active rest, doing physical work so as not to lose too much," commented the coach, explaining that "we're going to start little by little, we have 17 days to prepare for the next match."

Carlos Britos' debut on the bench of CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife will be on December 17, with the match against Beti-Onak at the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion.
